The client: Lakeland Speciality Foods is a growing Cumbrian business with many complementary elements including butchers, speciality food businesses, and an amazing Himalayan salt wall, where meat is aged to absolute deliciousness.
The brief: To ensure that their suite of visual identities resonates with target customers in dual markets – they are producers and wholesale suppliers of premium quality, speciality meats, and, a trusted butcher loved by local families. As a forward-thinking and dynamic company, they were looking for fresh ideas on branding, design for print, and vehicle wraps – all of which needed to tie together existing businesses, and pre-existing design elements.
I was tasked with bringing cohesion to the brand and developing new brand elements, such as the eye-catching animal heads for their Lakeland Salthouse business. Each step of the work developed the brands a little further. The van wrap is the show-piece for the butchery business and I thoroughly enjoyed considering market position, curb appeal, and functionality in one graphic design job.
The brochure for the speciality meat business was a great example of how professional photography, copywriting and high-quality design and print can make a real difference and boost sales conversions in a luxury marketplace. The paper stock, print finishes, custom size and shape of the brochure were all carefully thought through to ensure a high-end look and feel.
